Grace…it bids me fly and gives me wings!
Spread your wings and really go places with Take Flight , the first devotional/ ponder/ prayer/ make-it-what-you-need book in the Sisterchicks in the Word series! Robin Jones Gunn and her Sisterchick, Cindy Hannan, offer a collection of fresh, insightful devotions that will rejuvenate the quiet time gone dry. Along with key Scripture verses, they kick in travel tips, wisdom (such as, when a woman knows she’s loved, she can do anything ), Sisterchick locators (find me the best scone in the world!), and more. Complete with ideas for Sisterchickin’ (slang for Sisterchicking; activities for Sisterchicks to do together, as in, “Don’t bother us now; we’re Sisterchickin’!” Not to be confused with Sisterchicken). New. Deep. Different. Fun!

I received this book free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Company in exchange for an honest review.
But I had no idea how much it would touch my soul – I’m glad they don’t expect the book to be returned (with all the tear-stained pages).
On a lighter note, I loved all the flight references: preflight prep, birds-eye view, on a wing and a prayer – it was so much fun!
The first section opens with grace – God’s Grace – which is what makes life worth living.
If we cannot believe God when circumstances seem to be against us, we do not believe Him at all.
This novel explores grace-stories of life, but in a truly unique way. Robin tells a grace story; Cindy summarizes it and asks the reader questions to plant the story deeper in the heart & mind. Then there’s room left at the end for the reader to write a few notes. And last but not least, suggestions for applying what’s been learned!
Read this devotional! But have a box of tissues handy. You can read about it HERE at GoodReads.
I’ve collected books from Robin Jones Gunn for years. I bought the Christie Miller series & Sierra Jensen series for my daughter. Most of them were bought in a little bookstore at Dollywood just after the park opened. Then I began collecting Sister Chick novels just for me. But this devotional is an awesome addition to my book collection.
