Miriam’s Heart by Emma Miller (Hannah’s Daughters #2)

Day #15 – Today I am reviewing Miriam’s Heart. This is the second novel from the series: Hannah’s Daughters, by Emma Miller. This is not a Christmas story, but nonetheless a wonderful, inspiring story.

GoodReads says:

Miriam Yoder always thought she’d marry Charley Byler. Steady, dependable Charley, who grew up on the neighboring farm, and has been sweet on her since they were young. But then local veterinarian John Hartman catches Miriam’s eye. He’s handsome, charming, cares for animals—and is not Plain. While Miriam is known as the “wild” Yoder sister, she is still expected to marry a good Amish man. But what if it’s God’s plan to match her with John? Miriam must listen to her heart to truly know which man will claim her love and her future.

This is the second novel… I purchased the third book, but I enjoyed it so much, I stopped until I could find the first and second books so I could go back and read through the stories as they occurred.

Miriam is what we would refer to as a “tomboy” and I think this somewhat hinders her from the normal courtships. The synopsis says she always intended to marry Charley, but that isn’t the way I took it. Miriam is best friends with Charley… her FAMILY has always expected her to marry Charley. But Charley is shocked when he begins to have more than “friendly” feelings for Miriam, too!

Read what happens when Charley’s feelings change towards Miriam, only to have her become smitten with someone else! As Charley’s feelings grow, he faces the knowledge that he will have to leave Seven Poplars if Miriam refuses his proposal.

If you get the chance, check out the Hannah’s Daughters series by Emma Miller, published under Love Inspired.
