Today I am reviewing Romance in Recovery, the second book in The Knotty Pine Chronicles, by Donna Reimel Robinson.
Here is a brief synopsis:
Romance in Recovery is a contemporary Christian romance for those who enjoy reading inspirational sweet romance novels.
When Noelle’s grandmother dies, she’s all alone in the world. Not one person from her past — except for him, and she hopes he never finds her.
Tucker Shay is living the good life as a freewheeling bachelor — flying airplanes, playing basketball, flirting with girls. He has plenty of time to settle down and get married.
Then tragedy strikes, and nothing is the same.
What is God’s plan for Tucker and Noelle? Will they grant each other a second chance for a happy future together?

I absolutely love this fun, quirky romance series!
First, I would like to confess that book covers are a big deal to me… if it looks creepy or otherwise in bad taste, I won’t read the book — usually I won’t even read the blurb on the cover. If a picture is worth a thousand words, the picture on the cover has to be special.
Unfortunately, I haven’t seen many covers that I’ve raved about — until this series. When I reviewed the first book of the series, I mentioned that I thought the cover was perfect! Well, this one is too! It speaks to me…
I knew I would enjoy the book (at least I hoped I would) when I saw the cover — it has beautiful, harmonic colors — with the perfect picture!
Now on to the book…
What happens when Noelle meets Mr. Right — but he turns out to be Mr. Wrong?
Noelle, Goldie’s new neighbor, is sweet, but much too trusting. Thankfully she finds out in time that not everyone can be trusted to do the right thing.
Tucker is a likable character, until his accident. Then he begins to change. The question is… will he fully recover?
Ok — you know I’m not going to spill the beans… well, not many. I certainly don’t want to spoil the book for you. But I will say that I wasn’t disappointed in the least in this sequel.
Once again, Donna has created wonderful characters — just the sort I would enjoy living around and getting to know. Well, of course they are… some of the same people in the first book are back. I was glad to see them again — and catch up on their news.
And once again we will follow Noelle, Tucker, and a few others into the Kaffee Klatch, the Knitting Knotty, the Knotted Quilt… and Take Me For Granite (okay, I threw the last two in there to see if you’re still paying attention)!
Oh well, it’s too bad that this isn’t a real town — because I would have a few things to say to Noelle about dating… and trusting people. Donna writes such an entertaining story with funny, memorable people that I was disappointed when I reached the end!
Now I can’t wait to read book 3…
