Sacred Trust | Hannah Alexander Marathon

Today I’m reviewing Sacred Trust, the first book in the ER Trilogy, by Hannah Alexander.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Fast-paced ER drama! Emergency room surgeon Lukas Bower decides to leave the city for a small-town hospital. When he crosses a difficult ER chief, Bower’s integrity — so important in the operating room — may cost him his job!

Dr. Lukas Bower believes in God, the Hippocratic Oath and doing the right thing.Lukas won’t prescribe drugs to an addict just because he’s the son of a hospital board member. Or let an obese man die because he doesn’t have insurance.

Lukas didn’t play hospital politics at his former job, and he won’t in this small-town Missouri emergency department.

One very attractive colleague seems to appreciate Lukas’s commitment to honor and truth. But Dr. Mercy Richmond’s feelings will be tested when her child is brought into Lukas’s E.R., putting her sacred trust, her heart — and her daughter’s life — in his hands.

Don’t miss this exciting E.R. trilogy… by Hannah Alexander!Tweet this!

Hannah Alexander is superb at pulling me into the drama she creates in her novels…

The characters are as realistic as any that I’ve read… and they deal with real-life issues, such as child abuse, alcoholism, broken marriages, and work-related issues – and of course their immediate concerns of life and death situation in the emergency room!

There are lots of technical terms, but nothing that I couldn’t figure out. Once you start reading Hannah’s novels, you get much more comfortable with the technical terms, as well as the E.R. drama. And this is part of what makes the story realistic.

I won’t try to make you believe that everything works out… life doesn’t happen that way, and neither does everything at Knoll Community Hospital. One thing I learned is that it doesn’t matter what choices you make in life – if you give someone else your power of attorney, they can over-ride your choices (so be careful of this).

I was concerned enough to check with a professional, who assured me that this is true “in real life” as well as in novels.

If you enjoy reading medical mysteries, don’t miss Sacred Trust!
