Today I’m reviewing Harvest of Blessings, the fifth book in the Seasons Of The Heart series by Charlotte Hubbard.
Here is a brief synopsis:
The tranquil little town of Willow Ridge is facing a startling challenge.
Wealthy Nora Glick is determined to make it her home again–and put her past to rest. Cast out by her own family, Nora can’t reconcile with Old Amish ways or her strict father.
But she’ll do anything to help her community embrace the future . . . and make amends to the daughter she had to give up. So, she certainly has no time for her reckless new neighbor Luke Hooley.
They disagree about almost everything. And how can she trust him if he always seems to believe the worst about her?
Somehow, though, his unexpected support and passionate heart are helping her find her own way in faith. And Nora will discover that even in the face of insidious lies and unyielding judgment, God creates unexpected chances for forgiveness–and love.

I knew he’d be back again!
Hiram Knepp might have moved away, with big plans to start a new Amish “colony” – but he just can’t stop sticking his big nose into the happenings in Willow Ridge.
When Nora Glick buys Hiram’s abandoned property in Willow Ridge, he starts getting into her business, too. Poor Nora has a pretty rough time; her father refuses to acknowledge her, her neighbors are always catching her off guard, and Hiram keeps showing up – even coming into her house and trying to buy back the barn and land from her.
What really gets my goat is when Hiram meets Nora at the house – on the very day his daughter is getting married. So far, he has interrupted several weddings… I won’t say more, so I don’t spoil it for you. But take it from me – Hiram’s made more than his share of trouble.
Charlotte has created the perfect community, filled with realistic characters – so much so that she could probably write another five books and not run out of interesting characters and events. I love the people of Willow Ridge (except Hiram Knepp – no one could love him).
Nora has a really rough time with her dat at first, but she’s a strong lady, and if anyone deserves happiness – it’s her. Read it… you’ll see just what I mean.
Don’t miss out on this great addition to Seasons of the Heart series.
