An October Bride | Katie Ganshert

Today I am reviewing An October Bride, an novella found in Autumn Brides: A Year of Weddings Novella Collection, by Katie Ganshert.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Happily ever after begins today. The honor of your presence is requested. . .

No one but Jake and Emma know the true reason they’re getting married—so Emma’s dying father can walk her down the aisle.

While Jake and Emma plan an autumn wedding together, it becomes clear that their agreement has a few complications—the biggest being their true feelings for each other.

Emma would do anything for her dad, including a fake marriage to Jake.

Okay, I admit it; I bawled…

I’ve been known to get emotional when reading a good story, but usually not to that extent. This story is really great! The characters are endearing and the story is one I just couldn’t put down!

This was perhaps the first of Katie’s books that I read… and I loved it! I’ll definitely be watching for more…

In the meantime, let me tell you why I loved it.

What if the only way you could make your father’s last wish come true . . . was to marry the man of your dreams?

I don’t know about you, but I would move heaven and earth to make my father’s last wish come true! My father passed away several years ago, so I know from experience how much his last wishes meant to me.

Katie write a wonderfully appealing story, with characters so true-to-life that I was immediately pulled into the story and refused to let go until the very end. Don’t tell anyone, but this might just be my favorite story from everything I’ve read by her (so far).

I’d love to say more, but I really want you to read it — and LOVE IT — as much as I do. So I can’t give anything away… but please read it for yourself!

Oh Donna, I must read An October Bride with tissues in hand. I’m like you, I would move heaven and earth or whatever it took to fulfill a wish from my wonderful father who passed away 15 years ago. Thank you for sharing. I would love to add this book to my personal library.

This sounds like a very sweet story that I would enjoy reading! I’ve not read anything by Katie so this would be a great introduction to her writing!
