Today I am reviewing More Thank a Promise by Ruth Logan Herne.
Here is the brief synopsis:
Artist Elle Drake returned to her small town for peace and solace after a devastating break-up.
She never expected to find herself posing as a widower’s fiancée to help him keep custody of his three rambunctious boys.
And she certainly never expected to fall deeply, desperately in love with him.
The newest Christian romance by Ruth Logan Hearne combines heart and humor with a dose of small-town reality.
Oh, what a marvelous story!
Randy reminded me of my own grandson, full of adventure and stubborn as mud! Todd, the eldest, is sweet and yearning to be helpful. And Amos, the youngest, well, he’s gentle and kind.
I’ve always wanted the chance to do — on an amateur level — what Elle does, so I thoroughly enjoyed reading about her passion. And the boys are hilarious when they’re . . . well, I’ll let you read it for yourself and find out for yourself.
I think Elle had the best idea when she chose to jump in and help out. This is one book that is going on my TOP SHELF — and there it will remain. If you read nothing else, read More Thank a Promise . . . you’ll be glad you did.
Ruth Logan Herne writes just the sort of stories that call out to my heart. I love getting involved with her characters — likeable, independent, full-of-life characters. And if you’re anything like me — you most likely feel the same way.
You can find the rest of my reviews for Ruthy’s books on my bookshelf blog. I featured Ruthy in December 2015 and reviewed as many of her books as I could could. Hopefully, I’ve reviewed the rest of them this month. It’s been a wonderful month — and now that I’m caught up, I’ll be watching for new books coming out by this wonderful author.
