Today I am reviewing Love By the Numbers, a novel by Laura V. Hilton.
Here is a brief synopsis:
After a buggy accident claims the life of her fiancé, Lydia Hershberger makes a fresh start in Jamesport, Missouri, managing a gift store.
It isn’t long before she meets the young man hired to handle the bookkeeping—Caleb Bontrager, whose handcrafted cuckoo clocks are sold in the store.
And it isn’t long before Caleb has made up his mind about her: bright and sparkly but not right for him. Alarmed by his attraction to her, he determines to settle down with someone more practical. Less sparkle. More logic.
But he can’t seem to shake his feelings for Lydia.
When false allegations by the bishop back home catch up with Lydia and threaten to ruin her reputation, can she clear her name and find lasting happiness? Or will her sunny disposition fade away into heartbreak?
Tall. Sandy-blond hair. Clean-shaven face. Milk-chocolate-brown eyes.
Pardon me but, YUM!
All right, Laura. You definitely have my attention right away. I mean, who in their right mind would lay the book down now! Not me. And you shouldn’t either!
But if that’s not enough, there’s more action than you’d expect, keeping you glued to the story until the very end. I have authors who keep me awake half the night, finishing their book.
Laura, you definitely keep me awake at night–when I’m reading one of your books I can’t put it down!
Love By the Numbers is a wonderful story. . . and you know, that’s just the way people act. They want something — even when they don’t want it!
But enough clues… get a copy and read this book for yourself. You’ll love the interaction between the characters and how much like real life the author writes. Read it. You’ll soon forget you’re reading a story… and feel like you’re right there in the middle of the action.
