The Alien’s Daughter | JC Morrows, Macy Morrows

Today I am reviewing The Alien’s Daughter, the 1st chapter book in the Tales of a Teenage Alien Human Hybrid series, by JC Morrows and Macy Morrows.

Here is a brief synopsis:

As if being a teenager isn’t hard enough. . .

Can you imagine how it feels to wake up one day and find out that you are not who you thought you were?

If you’re anything like me, you know it’s hard enough trying to fit in—in high school—without having to deal with the knowledge that your dad is an alien part of the time. I don’t even get how you can be an alien part of the time. . .

Not to mention all of the crazy new alien gifts you really wish you could return.

Oh well, at least I have an explanation for the blue hair.

So, not only do I get to deal with school bullies this fall, who I’m apparently not allowed to use my new abilities on, I have to keep anyone from finding out my secret. . . and keep my grades up.

Could life get any crazier!

Book one of the Tales of a Teenage Alien Human Hybrid series.

MY THOUGHTS:

Zoe is a really cool character… with blue hair — and a few new strange powers that have just shown up!

And she has two dads!

Well… not really. But her dad has two very different personalities, so much so that she calls one of them Nice Dad and the other one Not-so-nice Dad.  Personally, I wish Not-so-nice Dad would take a hike!  Unfortunately, if he does, Nice Dad won’t stay around, either. Even if she wants him to…

How does Zoe learn to control her powers? What happens with her dad? Read the story and find out, like I did… and once you do, you’ll want to know more (like I do) and you’ll be anticipating the return of Zoe (and her dads) in The Hybrid Challenge.

Happy Reading!

God Bless You!

The Cowboy’s Christmas Reunion | Valerie Comer

Today I am reviewing The Cowboy’s Christmas Reunion, the first story in the Montana Ranches Christian Romance series by Valerie Comer.

Here is a brief synopsis:

The Cowboy Santa program is supposed to be a chance to help his neighbors. When Kade Delgado’s ex-fiancée, now a single mom, shows up on his list, neither of them are thrilled.

Is there any hope for a second chance at love?

MY THOUGHTS:

I was hoping Valerie would publish a story about cowboys — and now she has!

I don’t want to give anything away, so I’m going to be especially careful about saying much… except to encourage you to read this story. It’s SOOOOO good! I am thrilled that Valerie wrote about Kade and Cheri — and their life story. If you are a lover of romance, you’ll love The Cowboy’s Christmas Reunion!  I’ll be back with my review for the next book in this series when it releases…

Don’t miss this exciting new series by Valerie Comer!

Happy Reading!

Flavors of Forever | Valerie Comer

Today I am reviewing Flavors of Forever, the fifth book in the Urban Farm Fresh  Romance series by Valerie Comer.

Here is a brief synopsis:

God’s love is the gold mending broken hearts and dreams

As her friends pair off, Kassidy North thinks happily-ever-after has passed her by, but she’s too busy running a busy bistro and once-a-month cooking club to be bothered by it. Much. Until a single dad moves into the neighborhood and threatens to invade her dreams and well-ordered life.

Metal sculptor Wesley Ferguson is a cynic when it comes to romance, but something in Kass makes him want to believe again. He’s not so sure he agrees when she insists forever love begins with God. What has God ever done for him?

Unable to avoid one another in the close-knit community of Bridgeview, Kass and Wesley develop the beginnings of a friendship. But when relationships break around them, can they see God as the glue capable of holding broken pieces together… forever?

About the Urban Farm Fresh Christian Romance Series. . .
0. Promise of Peppermint
1. Secrets of Sunbeams
2. Butterflies on Breezes
3. Memories of Mist
4. Wishes on Wildflowers
5. Flavors of Forever

The Urban Farm Fresh Romance series follows the adventures, romantic and otherwise, of a group of friends in the fictional neighborhood of Bridgeview in Spokane, Washington.

A Christian romance series, these urban farming stories explore what an urban community focused on local food might look like: raising goats, chickens, and bees in the heart of the city while sharing in food projects and engaging in each others’ lives through community gardens and permaculture. Each story stands alone.

While the Urban Farm Fresh Romance series shares a world and some characters from the Farm Fresh Romance series, it stands complete in its own setting.

Snag your copy of FLAVORS OF FOREVER today!

MY THOUGHTS:

Valerie Comer has a wonderful way of writing Christian fiction. Her characters real, not to mention colorful and interesting. And the emphasis on fresh foods is an awesome addition to her books!

Kassidy North is a great character… she’s been working 24/7 trying to run her busy bistro, plus an added once-a-month cooking class, but lately she’s been wondering if she’ll ever have any time to herself. When Wesley Ferguson and his son visit the bistro, he’s charmed by the lovely Kass.

Meanwhile, Wesley is being introduced, thanks to his friends, to something new and a bit scary… church — and God. When Kass learns that Wesley isn’t a Christian, her thoughts and feelings are put on hold, hoping that Wesley will make the right decision and become a Christian.

Don’t miss this exciting sequel in the Urban Farm Fresh Romance series!

Happy Reading!

God bless you!

Lost Christmas Memories | Dana Mentink

Today I am reviewing Lost Christmas Memories, the fourth — and final — novel in the Gold Country Cowboys series by Dana Mentink.

Here is a brief synopsis:

A witness with amnesia…

Can she trust this Gold Country Cowboy with her life?

Tracy Wilson witnessed a murder—but after a head injury, she can’t remember what she saw.

Now someone plans to silence her for good, and only cowboy Keegan Thorn believes her.

With a killer after her at Christmas, Tracy is running out of time to remember… and falling dangerously hard for the cowboy who could break her heart.

MY THOUGHTS:

I love reading suspense stories by Dana Mentink… and she doesn’t disappoint with her newest release, Lost Christmas Memories.

The fact that I began reading it tonight and didn’t stop until I reached the end — at 12:58 AM — should tell you that this story is an amazing one… and one you won’t want to put down until the end, either.

You won’t believe everything that happens to Tracy Wilson!  First, she witnesses a murder, then she’s involved in a car accident and can’t remember anything about the murder, then no one really believes her story — except for Keegan Thorn. But Keegan has his own set of problems, and Tracy’s grandpa almost convinces her that Keegan is the one who’s endangering her life. And that Keegan isn’t the nice guy she thinks he is!

Oh mercy!  This is such a great story! And as soon as I have time, I’m going to go back and read all four stories in order… Cowboy Christmas Guardian, Treacherous Trails, Cowboy Bodyguard, and Lost Christmas Memories (again). This is an awesome series!

Happy Reading!

God Bless You!

His Promise | Shelley Shepard Gray

Today I am reviewing His Promise, the sixth book in The Amish of Hart County series by Shelley Shepard Gray.

Here is a brief synopsis:

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Shelley Shepard Gray’s latest Christmas novel in her Amish of Hart County series.

It’s set to be a white Christmas in Hart County, and Grace King is pet-sitting in a beautiful home with only a difficult dachshund for company. Just as she starts to miss the bustle of her large Amish family, Grace runs into a familiar face. Living right next door is John Michael Miller. He’s a fireman now, but five years ago, he had courted her older sister, then broke her heart. Seeing him again stirs Grace’s anger, but also reminds her of deeper feelings she’s done her best to deny.

The infatuation John Michael once saw in Grace’s eyes is long gone, though his complicated attraction to her remains. He had walked away all those years ago when he realized he was falling in love with the wrong sister.

Now, as suspicious fires are set in their community, that’s not an option. Grace dismisses his warnings, and John Michael vows to keep an eye on her. But he can’t help wondering if he’s reconnected with Grace, only to risk losing her again.

Now all John Michael wants for Christmas is to keep Grace safe, in the hopes that they can one day have a future together.

Blessings!
