Be The Miracle | Delores Liesner

Today I am reviewing Be The Miracle by Delores Liesner.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Whether we title these unexplainable happenings miracles, God-sightings, or some other name, people love to hear of such occurrences.

Why? They increase our faith by providing evidence of the miraculous in our everyday lives and heighten awareness of God’s desire to minister personally to us and through us.

Unique connecting verses, defining thought, key words, and personal challenges will help the readers go beyond the “good for her” feeling and bring each story’s teaching to life in their own daily walk.

Many will find comfort knowing they are not alone in hearing God’s voice or direction.

Others also will deepen their walk with God, gain the courage to listen for God’s voice, be a noticer of others’ needs, and practice hearing and answering God’s call to deliver a specific answer to a specific person. Sometimes walking in faith seems risky because it means obeying even if the directions don’t seem to make sense.

When Abraham brought Isaac in faith up the mountain for a sacrifice, he risked all believing that God’s character would not fail him. God did keep His promise and provided a lamb, and Abraham passed the test of trust and faithfulness.

What do we risk daily for the Lord? These life-vignettes encourage readers that risking embarrassment is a small price for the incredible joy of seeing God work over and over again.

How can YOU put hands and feet to your faith and BE The Miracle for someone else?

This is the book for you, if you need encouragement, help, or a spiritual blessing. Delores Liesner writes about miracles in her life that will inspire you and increase your faith, as you read what God has done in her life.

At the end of each chapter – each miracle – Delores adds a life-changing lesson, a life-changing Bible verse, and a life-changing challenge for readers!

I highly recommend this book – to readers everywhere!

God bless you!

Blessings!

21 Days of Love | Kathy Ide

Today I am reviewing 21 Days of Love compiled by Kathy Ide, featuring Cindy Woodsmall, Susan May Warren, Sherry Kyle, Renae Brumbaugh, and Lori Freeland, & more.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Love can be found in many treasured relationships: boyfriend-girlfriend, husband-wife, parent-child… with a special friend, teacher, or pet… in the kindness of a stranger. We even have a national holiday to celebrate love.

The greatest love ever known is God’s abundant love for us, His children. And He often demonstrates that perfect love through imperfect people.

These stories represent all kinds of love. Woven through each story is the sustaining hand of our loving heavenly Father. On Valentine’s Day—and every day—whether your life is chocolates and flowers or loneliness and pain, let these stories fill your heart with hope, peace, and most important, love.

MY THOUGHTS:

21 Days of Love is a beautiful book, from cover to cover. Now, I don’t usually begin my reviews by complimenting the cover, but it’s perfect. Matter of fact, each of the book covers for this series are thoughtful and true to the subject covered within its’ pages.

Inside this book, you will find stories of love . . . stories that represent the many different types of love that we all experience, from the relationships we have with our parents and siblings, our spouse and our children, as well as friends, and even strangers.

But these aren’t stories to bring false hope, or present fairy tales; instead, they are written to encourage us as we go through rough times. The very first story describes how an accident changes a young girl’s life — and her future. Left with feelings of hopelessness, she discovers that God has another path for her life, if she’ll only trust Him with her future.

Each story in this devotional is encouraging, uplifting, and heart-warming. I was continually reminded of God’s love for me. And that He is always waiting for me, even when I’ve drifted away at times. His love for me is an everlasting love, full of promise.

If you haven’t read 21 Days of Love, or one of the companion books in this series, I encourage you to read it.

God Loves You!

MY THOUGHTS:

21 Days of Christmas will be a inspiration to all who read it!

These wonderful holiday short stories will attract believers as well as non-believers… and will be a great witness to all.

Kathy Ide has taken twenty-one stories of Christmas and brought them together to inspire and uplift the holiday season. Although a few aren’t stories I would normally enjoy, I feel that most readers will be blessed by them.

Along with the first book in this series, 21 Days of Grace, it makes a great addition to any personal library. It can also be used as a devotional, with life applications included with each story. Each of these stories can be read in a short time, so you can enjoy them anytime.

I plan to purchase several copies to give as Christmas gifts!

First and Goal | Jake Byrne

Today I am reviewing First and Goal by Jake Byrne.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Jake Byrne dreamed of playing professional football. He had the size, the talent, the drive…but at age fourteen, he found out he also had type 1 diabetes.

Still, Jake was determined to reach his goal. And God was determined to guide and empower him all along the way.

Jake’s journey to the NFL is the backdrop for this collection of inspiring devotions for teens based on more than 100 football terms.

Jake defines each phrase, shares a brief account of his life, includes Scripture, and then ties that all up in way that feels real and very encouraging.

You’ll discover…what to do when God calls an audible in your life how to respond when God puts you on special teams why prayer is more than a desperate hail Mary

These quick daily readings will help you press through your own difficulties and experience God’s dreams for you.

MY THOUGHTS:

Jake Byrne explains life — using football terms — in his debut book, First and Goal, and he does a superb job! He tells the good, the bad, and the in-between, with laughter and grace. His book is informative, encouraging, and an inspiration to everyone who reads it.

You don’t have to play — or even like — football, to enjoy Jake’s story. Full of truth and wisdom, and sprinkled with lots of scripture, Jake encourages all who read his story to live for God, giving all to Him and not feeling defeated during the rough times.

Although originally written for teen boys, anyone who reads Jake’s story will be blessed by his courage and tenacity. I especially like how it’s written more as a devotional — and I’m hoping that’s just the way many young teens will be encouraged to read it.

God bless you, Jake. Thank you for being a daily Christian example for all those who enjoy football, for sharing your ups and downs while living with Type 1 diabetes, and offering hope to anyone with battles to overcome.

21 Days of Grace | Kathy Ide

Today I am reviewing 21 Days of Grace, a fiction lover’s devotional featuring 21 authors, by Kathy Ide.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Christians have long loved devotionals, but today’s Christians are also developing a strong love for fiction.

They want to read stories about characters they can relate to, who experience situations similar to their own, and learn from those examples how to live out their faith. For them, life lessons are more easily absorbed this way.

21 Days of Grace fits all of these needs. It is a collection of engaging, inspirational short fiction stories written by new, intermediate, and well-known authors including Angela Hunt, Deborah Raney, Cindy Woodsmall, Cecil Murphey, Robin Bayne, and more.

Like Jesus’ parables, these stories deal with important life issues in a subtle, unpressured manner. And, as Jesus did, the authors follow up with life applications based on the stories, suggesting how the inherent lessons can be applied to the reader’s daily life.

Start your day with 21 Days of Grace… by Kathy Ide Tweet this!

MY THOUGHTS:

21 Days of Grace is a blessing to those who read it!

Kathy Ide has taken twenty-one wonderful stories of grace – and brought them together to inspire and uplift those who read them. I can only imagine how difficult it was for Kathy to choose which stories would be included – and I’m hoping another book will be released sometime in the future.

While it makes a great addition to any personal library, this book can also be used as a devotional, with life applications included with each story. I plan to purchase several copies to give as gifts; the stories would attract believers as well as non-believers, in my opinion, and would be a great witness to all.

The stories are full of goodness, yet can be read in a short amount of time. This would be a great book to begin your day… and since many of the writers are favorites of mine, this is just what I’m planning to do. I can’t think of a better way to start my own day!

This book deserves a solid 5 stars in my opinion… I only wish I could give it a higher rating.

God bless you!
