The Cowboy’s Belated Discovery | Valerie Comer

Today I am reviewing The Cowboy’s Belated Discovery, the fifth story in the Saddle Springs Romance series by Valerie Comer.

Here is a brief synopsis:

In this belated epiphany romance, all she asks is one shot at winning his heart, but he can’t take one more chance on love.

Tori Carmichael has been in a holding pattern since her dad’s debilitating accident. Now that the family’s ranch resort is on stable footing again, she’s ready for her future, but her plan to become a teacher dims in the glow of her dreams about the newest cowboy in Saddle Springs. Too bad there seems little sign Garret will ever return her interest.

Garret Morrison had planned to resume his music career after taking time to regroup from a shattered relationship, but his aging parents need his help with their riding stable. He pours himself into worship ministry at the local church, avoiding starry-eyed Tori for her own good. Every woman he’s loved has left him, one way or another, and he can’t face the possibility one more time.

What will it take for Garret to discover that love is worth the risk? And will that realization come too late to save what might have been?

MY THOUGHTS:

Another Saddle Springs romance!

Oh mercy… why is it that the people you least want to ever see again seem to turn up at the worst moments! And the people you really want to be with seen to be out of your reach!

If you’re intrigued, don’t miss this exciting new sequel in the Saddle Springs Romance series. You’re gonna love getting to know Garret and Tori… and you’ll be hoping (along with me) that they finally work things out so they can move on with their lives.

Don’t miss this exciting new series by Valerie Comer!

Happy Reading!

God bless you!

No Time For Detours | Jean C. Gordon

Today I am reviewing No Time For Detours by Jean C. Gordon. This is the 9th book in The No Brides Club series…

And here is a brief synopsis:

When six friends make a pact not to let love get in the way of their careers, the No Brides Club is born. But could meeting the right man at the wrong time cause them to break their vows to each other?

Ava Lewis can take care of herself. That’s what she’s been determined to prove to herself, and her well meaning, but sometimes overbearing family, her entire life. And now that she’s been provisionally accepted into NYU’s law school, she’s on her way to making all of her dreams come true.

But in order to afford these dreams, she has to make ends meet. And she gets an unexpected job offer in the form of Nick Jansen. When five-year-old twins are left in his care while their guardian goes off on a month-long honeymoon, he knows he can’t handle the rabble-rousers on his own. And that’s where Ava comes in.

After a broken engagement, and some words of dis-encouragement from his jaded mother, Nick has accepted that he’s meant to be alone and the world would be better off for it. But as the kids warm to Ava, so does he, and he starts to feel some of the ice around his heart melting away.

However, when Ava’s law school admission is jeopardized, Nick’s need to fix things threatens her independence and her dreams of carving out the life she wanted. But if there’s one thing Ava and Nick both have to learn, it’s that they might not get the life they want, but they have the love they need.

MY THOUGHTS:

What an amazing Christmas story!

Once Caro meets Hope and her family, she knows they are the perfect family to play secret angel to. But she has no idea that danger is just around the corner. Thankfully, she and Simon are spending a lot of time together. He’s the perfect man to have around… and when you read this story, you’ll see why.

I loved how Caro and Simon’s relationship develops — and how they use what they’ve learned from the past to work out their current problems. Don’t miss out on this wonderful story.

Happy Reading!

The Abbott Creek Cookbook | Naomi Miller

Today I am reviewing The Abbott Creek Cookbook by Naomi Miller.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Katie and her friends in Abbott Creek enjoy cooking . . . and baking, and they would like to share some of their favorite recipes with you.

They have gathered the best and most delicious recipes to be found in Abbott Creek, and added in some fun extras to go along with them. That way, you can enjoy reading about your favorite characters while you enjoy their favorite treats.

If you have read the stories that follow Katie and her friends, you will recognize many of the recipes within. However, we have also added a few you haven’t seen in the books. With any luck, you will find some new favorites to go along with the ones you already have–and love.

Either way . . . whether or not you have read the Amish Sweet Shop Mystery series or not, we sincerely hope you enjoy the recipes within this book.

MY THOUGHTS:

If you enjoy reading Amish fiction stories, you’ll enjoy reading The Abbott Creek Cookbook. And if you enjoy baking Amish treats, you’re gonna LOVE The Abbott Creek Cookbook!

Not only does this book share a little of each book from the Amish Sweet Shop Mystery series, but it shares each of the recipes included in the sox books, plus a whole lot more. And the author does a great job of including bits and pieces of the characters in the books to make her cookbook more interesting.

The Abbott Creek Cookbook has released just in time to make a great Christmas gift… so order a copy for yourself — and a friend (or two… or more) and prepare a few of the recipes to share with family and friends during the next few weeks. Check out the links below to purchase this book.

Happy Reading!

and Merry Christmas!

An Amish Wedding Feast on Ice Mountain | Kelly Long

Today I am reviewing An Amish Feast on Ice Mountain by Kelly Long.

Here is a brief synopsis:

An Amish celebration . . .

Since the moment her father died, Beth Mast has devoted body and soul to the care of her stepmother and stepsister—cooking, cleaning, and caring for their animals. So her friend Lucy’s wedding to the eldest King brother offers a welcome respite.

Shy and unaware of her beauty, Beth harbors a secret sadness she hopes no one can see. But at this gathering she’s on display: her assigned escort happens to be the handsomest bachelor in their Amish community.

Newly returned to Ice Mountain, Ransom King has no interest in the maedels pursuing him. Haunted by events during his five-year apprenticeship in Ohio, he’s startled to find a kindred spirit in Beth, whose dutiful ways can’t mask her inner glow.

Ransom longs to show her how much she deserves happiness, though his own troubled history holds him back. It will take Ransom’s feisty Aenti Ruth and her ragtag menagerie to entice these two guarded hearts to open to love . . .

MY THOUGHTS:

Kelly Long, I loved your story!

Beth Mast has no idea that she’s being treated more like a servant than a daughter. But that’s the kind of person she is… loving, giving, loyal, dependable, and hard-working. Attributes we should all exhibit.

Such interesting characters, an unexpected twist to the story, and a surprising end, kept me reading long past midnight. I honestly could not put this book down until I reached the end. I can’t wait to ready other books by the author.

Thank you, Ms. Long, for a wonderful story!

Happy Reading!

Blessings!

An Amish Christmas Kitchen | Gould, Drexler, Lloyd

Christmas in Winter Hill | Melody Carlson

Today I am reviewing Christmas in Winter Hill by Melody Carlson.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Krista Galloway has a good reason to dislike the holiday season, but when her new job as city manager forces her to plan the town’s over-the-top Christmas celebration, she and her daughter may find a new home–and some Christmas spirit–in the process.

MY THOUGHTS:

I love reading Christmas stories…

Krista Galloway isn’t too crazy about Christmas… as a matter of fact, she doesn’t care for it at all.

Spoiler #1 — her birthday is on Christmas Eve–the worst day to have a birthday, because everyone is fixated on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. So… she never gets birthday gifts or a party.

Spoiler #2 — her husband left her–you guessed it–on Christmas Eve.

I can’t blame Krista for not liking Christmas. The problem is, she’s just taken a job in Winter Hill, where they have huge Christmas plans every year. And, of course, they’re expecting her to participate. But that’s not the biggest problem!

And I’m not going to say anything else. If you want to know more, read the story. Find out why Krista may be leaving town… before Christmas even comes!

Happy Reading!

Blessings!

Christmas of Hope | Diane Craver

Today I am reviewing Christmas of Hope by Diane Craver. This is part of the Dreams of Plain Daughters series.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Rachel Weaver decides to visit her husband, Samuel, at his furniture business and take lunch to him. When she arrives at his store with their daughter in her arms, Rachel is surprised to see a beautiful Englisher, Bridget, laughing and talking with him.

Jealousy causes Rachel to consider returning to work part-time at the bakery next to Samuel’s store. She will see Samuel more and can eat lunch with him. Keeping tabs on her handsome husband and baking her famous pies in the Weaver’s Bakery becomes Rachel’s objective.

Other characters from the Dreams of Plain Daughters Series make an appearance in this novella. As it gets closer to Christmas, Rachel’s faith is tested, and she is reminded again how fragile life is.

MY THOUGHTS:

I love reading Christmas stories…

But Christmas is about to be spoiled when Rachel finds a beautiful English flirting with her husband. Is there more there than she’s seeing? What is her husband keeping from her?

Let me encourage you to read this wonderful story. Once you begin, it’ll be difficult to put down. The love and affection the author gives the characters is apparent — and I found myself wanting to read her other books. (So I’ll probably be posting more reviews here for her books in the future). I don’t want to give away any other spoilers, so if you want to know more, please read the story.

Merry Christmas!

… and Happy Reading!

His Wyoming Baby Blessing | Jill Kemerer

Today I am reviewing His Wyoming Baby Blessing, the fourth story in the Wyoming Cowboys series by Jill Kemerer.

Here is a brief synopsis:

She’s pregnant on his doorstep…

Saddle up for this Wyoming Cowboys novel.

When his childhood friend Kit McAllistor shows up, widowed and pregnant, rancher Wade Croft offers her a place to stay…but he can’t offer her his heart. As old feelings begin to surface, past tragedies force Wade to ignore them.

But on the brink of losing his ranch, will he also risk losing the woman he’s beginning to love…or can he cowboy up in time?

MY THOUGHTS:

if you’ve read anything by Jill Kemerer, then you’re going to love this series!

Wade Croft is a man with a painful past, just like Kit McAllistor… Kit has lost her husband and is in need of a place to stay. She’s also very pregnant. Wade can’t let go of his past, but he does the honorable thing and helps out his friend Kit. I have to admit that I shed more than a few tears when reading this heart-warming story. I think you will, too.

I can’t wait for you to read this story for yourself… please leave a comment and let me know what you think of it! Just don’t miss out on this wonderful series.

Happy reading!

Wyoming Christmas Quadruplets | Jill Kemerer

Today I am reviewing Wyoming Christmas Quadruplets, the third story in the Wyoming Cowboys series by Jill Kemerer.

Here is a brief synopsis:

A nanny at Christmas time…

Will she find love in this Wyoming Cowboys novel?

Six weeks on a ranch caring for quadruplets—aspiring nurse Ainsley Draper’s prepared for a busy Christmas. When the children’s handsome uncle opens the door, her task gets extra complicated.

Marshall Graham is upholding his promise to look after his twin sister, the babies’ mom. But as family loyalty clashes with new love, will the perfect present include a future with Ainsley?

MY THOUGHTS:

When Ainsley agrees to help a new mother with her quadruplets, the last thing she expects to find is the baby’s uncle caring for them — and their mother hiding out in her room. After Ainsley realizes the mother has problems of her own to deal with, she tries to convince her to visit her doctor, but instead Ainsley ends up getting fired! In the meantime, what will happen to the four wee babes?

I don’t want to ruin the story for you, so let me stop here — and encourage you to read this sweet story for yourself.

Happy reading!

Blessings!
