Escape After E.L.E. | JC Morrows

Today I am featuring Escape After E.L.E., the second novel in The Frozen World series, by JC Morrows.

Here is a brief synopsis:

A FROZEN WORLD. . . A LOST LOVE. . . A DIMINISHING HOPE. . .

FORTY-FIVE YEARS  AFTER A ROGUE MOON SMASHED INTO OUR WORLD. . .

THIRTY YEARS AFTER HUMANITY EMERGED FROM THE CAVES WHERE THEY TOOK REFUGE. . .

A GROUP OF TEENS DISCOVER THERE IS MORE TO THE STORY. . .

Everything Jude has been taught, tells him that Eve was lost to him when he watched the gates close between them. But he refuses to give up on her–because, if there is anything he knows about the girl he reluctantly fell in love with, it is that she would find a way to survive.

But would she be able to survive long enough. . .

When their search efforts are blocked–even after the relentless storms subside–they begin to realize there is something much more sinister happening in the caves than any of them imagined.

When more friends start disappearing, will they be able to figure out why–in time–or will everyone end up suffering the same fate as Eve. . .

Lost forever to those left behind in the caves. . .

Life After E.L.E. by JC Morrows . . . Will Jude find her?  Don’t miss this action-packed story!  – Tweet this!

MY THOUGHTS:

Oh my goodness!  After Eve didn’t make it back in time. . . and the big gates shut. . . I knew Jude would find a way to go after her. . . and either save her — or find her body and bring it back to her family. The characters were awesome, the action was superb, the emotions ran high, and the hero was determined to never give up until he found his true love!

If you read — and enjoyed — the first book as much as I did, you, too, were waiting on pins and needles for the sequel. And the moment I had it in my hands, I didn’t put it down until the very end.

If you enjoyed reading (or watching) The Hunger Games or Divergent, you will LOVE reading THE FROZEN WORLD series!

Happy Reading!

Blessings!

Life After E.L.E. | JC Morrows

Today I am reviewing Life After E.L.E., the first novel in The Frozen World series, by the amazing JC Morrows.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Extinction Level Event (E.L.E.): An event where all species on the planet can become extinct.

– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –

Rule#1: Be inside the gates before sunset.

Eve was born inside the caves. She was taught that rule – and many others – before she could walk. It should be the easiest thing in the world for her to remember.

But life is not always simple.

Life does not always go as planned . . .

When a rogue moon was discovered on a collision course with the Earth, we thought we had a solid plan.

We were wrong. And we were lied to.

Now Eve is in a race against time, discovery and danger around every corner – to find a truth that has been hidden for more than ten years.

A truth her father died to protect her from.

MY THOUGHTS:
Life After E.L.E. is an amazing story! After watching Divergent, Hunger Games, and 2012… I can’t wait to see this series on the big screen!

A rogue moon hits the earth, causing an ice age . . . Morrows does a superb job of creating life in the caves for those who survived. It is especially interesting to read about the many rules they live by. I haven’t decided which would be worse – being hunted by a saber-toothed tiger or locked out of the city by the evil chancellor! I think I’d take my chances with the tiger.

I was delighted to see the progression of Eve’s first love. While it didn’t go nearly as far as the scenes in the above-mentioned series, there are a couple of kisses, but that’s what happens in real life. Morrows gives the characters a true-to-life relationship, howbeit with an unexpected ending.

I cannot stress enough how frustrating it will be to wait a whole year for book two! I can’t wait to read the next part of this exciting saga.

Happy Reading!

COMING SOON… JC Morrows

I have some exciting news to share!

First, I have the distinct pleasure of sharing some exciting information about the first book in JC’s upcoming urban fantasy series…

Book 1 of the Andarii Chronicles

TAKEN

From the back cover:

This is not a story you want to miss; this book, or any book of this series. It’s a story that spans galaxies, involves multiple peoples, and it will reveal a destiny that no one saw coming.

No prophecy brought her here. No ancient oracle foretold her coming. No ancient tablet spoke about the role she is destined to fill. But life and fate brought her where she needs to be to save more than one planet.

While we wait for more information, please add this book to your GOODREADS shelf!

And JC has graciously agreed to share with you some hints about other projects, upcoming series, and works-in-process. . .

Also slated to release in 2018 is a story about an alien and the one she is connected to. You may have seen updates during November. JC did not win NaNoWriMo this year, but she did get a good start on LINKED – book 1 of the NEW Across the Void series.

She is also busily working on a time travel story, a dragon series and she is co-authoring a story with her daughter Macy.

Exciting things coming.

Thank You!
Blessings!

Genre: Young Adult Post-Apocalyptic/Dystopian

Release Date: November 29, 2016

Extinction Level Event: An event where all species on the planet can become extinct.

If you manage to survive . . . What then?

When a rogue moon was discovered on a collision course with the Earth, we thought we had a solid plan.

To survive. . . to rebuild. . . to go on.

30 Years later… those who managed to survive, emerged from the caves to find a frozen world.

A world where rule number one in the compound is to be inside the gates before sunset. . . or die.

Eve watched the gates close – with her father on the outside – so that should be the easiest thing in the world for her to remember.

But life is not always simple.

Life does not always go as planned.

Now Eve is in a race against time, discovery, and danger around every corner – to find a truth that has been hidden. . . for years.

A truth Eve’s father died to protect her from.

Guest Post from JC Morrows

Life After E.L.E. is one of those stories that I never saw coming. A lot of people might even say it was never meant to be. . .

But GOD had other plans!

It was one of those spur-of-the-moment ideas… the kind that usually doesn’t amount to much for me. Over the last twenty years I have started hundreds – yes, you read that right – of stories on the spur-of-the-moment. Until 2011, none of them amounted to anything more than a few chapters. In 2013, I was working on an entirely different series – the first I’d had any measure of true success with – when my mother challenged me to participate in NaNoWriMo [National Novel Writing Month – where you write 50,000 words in 30 days].

I sat down on November 1st with absolutely nothing on the page and only a vague idea of what I wanted to write about. And, to be perfectly honest, I didn’t expect much. I did not expect to reach the goal and I certainly never expected that the book would be published three years later (albeit after quite a bit of editing and rewriting)

What’s more is that there is more to this story.

Last November, one of the stops on Marissa Meyer’s Heartless tour was Nashville, and of course my daughter and I had to go see her… and buy her new book! While there, I gave Marissa an early copy of Life After E.L.E. after thanking her for being such an inspiration to me.

Not only did she seem genuinely excited – she made a point to have me autograph it! (cue absolute and utter shock – followed by inner Happy Dancing)!

Why so excited you ask? Well… there are some authors who think you’re not a “real” author when you write your story during NaNoWriMo and knowing Marissa’s story was about the only thing that kept me going that year. You can’t get much more REAL than New York Times Bestseller – which Marissa hit with her very first book. She was a tremendous inspiration to me then – and continues to be now. I am truly blessed to have met her!

And I count myself truly blessed that the right people enjoy the story enough that it has been published. I look forward to sharing part two with readers at the end of this year. And then I have another story to get out there!
