To Catch A Bachelor | Donna Reimel Robinson

Today I am reviewing To Catch a Bachelor… the second book in the Hearts of Bluestone Ridge series by Donna Reimel Robinson.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Jill Calabria promised her dying father she would marry an Italian bachelor who loves God and opera. That was seven years ago, and she is still trying to fulfill Papa’s dying request. Where is that bachelor?

Shawn Northwood is a widower with blond hair and blue eyes. He doesn’t have a drop of Italian blood in his veins, he hates opera, and he’s certainly not a bachelor. But he does have four daughters who want him to marry Jill.

Despite Jill’s determination to marry a bachelor, will she admit that Shawn is God’s perfect man for her?

To Catch a Bachelor is the second book in the Hearts of Bluestone Ridge series. Each Bluestone Ridge book is a full-length, contemporary Christian romance novel. You’ll be intrigued by each character’s desire to find their one true love, and how they depend on God’s help to accomplish it!

MY THOUGHTS:

Jill Calabria can’t seem to see the forest — for the trees. She has a sense of loyalty to her father, who, on his deathbed, promised him she would marry an Italian bachelor . . . but what if she finds Mr. Right — and he’s not Italian?  I admired Jill for her perseverance, while waiting for her to come to her senses!

Poor Shawn Northwood is trying to establish a relationship with another woman, while ignoring the one who’s perfect for him. When he finally realizes it, will he be able to convince her to break her promise to her dying father?

Donna Reimel Robinson writes a wonderful story of family commitment, showing how far someone will go to fulfill a promise. Now go read it — and find out for yourself how everything works out!

O Little Town of Bluestone Ridge | Donna Reimel Robinson

Today I am reviewing O Little Town of Bluestone Ridge… the first book in the Hearts of Bluestone Ridge series by Donna Reimel Robinson.

Here is a brief synopsis:

When Perry Westbrook meets single mother Lark Wilson again after ten years, he is thankful she doesn’t recognize him.

He has grown up and changed from the gangly nerd he was in high school when he teased Lark unmercifully.

She hated him. If only she never discovers his real identity.

As the weeks go by, Lark confides in Perry, and they fall in love. She never connects him to the kid she hated in high school, and Perry neglects to tell her who he really is.

Will she reject him when she finds out? Or will faith, love, and forgiveness overcome to win in the end?

O Little Town of Bluestone Ridge is the first book in the Hearts of Bluestone Ridge series. Each Bluestone Ridge book is a full-length, contemporary Christian romance novel. You’ll be intrigued by each character’s desire to find their one true love, and how they depend on God’s help to accomplish it!

MY THOUGHTS:

When Perry Westbrook runs off the road during a blizzard just before Christmas, he has no idea the nearest house is where Lark Trenbeth lives . . .

Lark has no idea who Perry is—or that he was the geek who pestered her in high school. But when she mentions to him how much she detested the geek . . . he decides to wait awhile before telling her who he really is.

There’s more trouble brewing with Lark’s grandmother, Mimsy . . . but if you want to know what happens, you have to read this book. I’m not about to reveal too much—and spoil it for you.

Donna Reimel Robinson writes a courageous tale, using interesting, colorful characters, who hold the reader’s attention until the very end. I am already committed to this small town of Bluestone Ridge—and the people I met. I can’t wait to continue with the series.

On a more personal note . . . I love that the scripture quoted in the book in from the King James Version of the Bible—that’s my preferred choice and the version that I read.
