Top 25 Authors of 2018

This was a VERY difficult list to create… first, I began gathering the names of all my favorite authors. After re-checking my bookcases and bookshelf blog, I found that I have well over 100 names! Now, this might not sound like a lot to some of you, but I was astounded that I had that many favorite authors – those whom I refuse to part with their books!

I began paring down… whew, that was rough! What I really wanted to do was to name them all — but that seemed to defeat the purpose of listing the TOP chosen few.

I tried — I really did — and I still didn’t get everyone on the list that I hoped to!

So… without further adieu.

Here’s my personal list of the TOP TWENTY-FIVE AUTHORS for 2019:

Jennifer Beckstrand    Vannetta Chapman    Valerie Comer    Rachel L. Miller

Dana Mentink    JC Morrows    Macy Morrows    Tricia Goyer    Ruth Logan Herne

Jean C. Gordon    Barbara Cameron    Suzanne Woods Fisher    Charlotte Hubbard

Ruth Reid    Shelley Shepard Gray    Molly Jebber    Kathy Fuller    Kelly Irvin

Lilian Jackson Braun    Emma Miller   Amos Wyse    Laura J. Marshall

Grace Livingston Hill    Philip Gulley    Jan Karon

God bless you!

A Christmas Coffee | Laura J Marshall

Today I am reviewing A Christmas Coffee, an inspirational Christmas Romance by Laura J. Marshall.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Villa Bellissimo along with Master Chef Antonia Coronada invite you to Sicily where you will be immersed in the art and passion of Italian culinary delights.

Sarah Cooper is still trying to find her place in the world after her husband died two years ago on Christmas Day. When her parents give her an early holiday gift, it may be just the opportunity she needs.

Parker Matrone is the founder and CEO of the billion dollar company, Coffee Grounds. There’s something about Sarah he can’t resist, but he’s been burned before and is now raising his two young sons alone.

Will they decide loving again is worth the risk? And what of the antique Christmas quilt beneath which Sarah dreams of Christmas’ past, present, and future?

Come explore Italy in this Christian Christmas romance where dreams do come true and life begins anew.

MY THOUGHTS:

A Christmas Coffee doesn’t seem like the typical Christmas story at first, with joyous preparations for the holiday. Instead, it focuses on Sarah Cooper, who lost her husband two years ago on Christmas Day.

Well, it’s no wonder that she doesn’t want to celebrate Christmas! I wouldn’t want to, either.

When her parents send her to Italy to take a cooking class, she meets Parker Matrone, a man who is definitely NOT looking for a relationship. And the rest of the story… well, you’ll find out when you read it.

Happy Reading… and Merry Christmas!

Blessings!

Finding a Plain Christmas | Laura J Marshall, Amos Wyse

Today I am reviewing Finding a Plain Christmas, a wonderful Christmas story by Amos Wyse & Laura J Marshall.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Kirsten Bergman, writer for Harrisburg Magazine, is busy checking off the boxes on her Christmas lists.

Her boss and secret crush, Richard Collins, unexpectedly assigns her to a story in Amish country, which seems like he’s setting her up for failure.

But is he actually giving her the greatest gift of all?

MY THOUGHTS:

You’re gonna love this Christmas story…

Kirsten Bergman reminded me of myself — and how I love to make lists, and decorate for the holiday, and buy the perfect gifts for loved ones, and plan Christmas parties. When she’s assigned a story by her editor, Richard Collins, about how the Amish celebrate Christmas, she heads to Amish country. What she finds is no help at all!!!

No Christmas trees… no decorations… no parties… no Santa…

What will she do? She has no idea how — or what — to write about the holiday.

With Richard’s help, she learns how to enjoy Amish Country… and Christmas — in a different, better way. Oh my goodness! I loved this story!

Happy Reading!

God Bless You!

and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

the Meek | Amos Wyse, Laura J Marshall

Today I am reviewing the Meek, a new Amish Romantic Suspense novel by Amos Wyse & Laura J Marshall.

Here is a brief synopsis:

For the English, it was the end of the world as they knew it. For the Amish, it was Tuesday.

Jedediah Wenger lost his family to an Englishe drunk driver. He has yet to put his life back together including the long-forgotten courting of the Bishop’s daughter, Felicity Troyer. When he’s suddenly faced with the task of helping the fading mid-western town of Prosperity survive, he realizes the task is greater than the town or the District can overcome.

Hearing about Prosperity through a ragtag ham radio, the remnants of the Government sends U.S. Cavalry Captain Jimmy Flanagan to protect the town which has evolved into a symbol of hope for all of America. His nagging concerns about his family in Nebraska keep him restless where he would otherwise find contentment.

MY THOUGHTS:

As I’ve previously said, I am a huge fan of Amos Wyse & Laura J Marshall… who have a new Amish Romantic Suspense out — and it’s truly amazing!

Jedidiah Wenger is an awesome young man who, after losing his parents and siblings, hires three couples to help him with the harvest and the canning of food he’ll need to get through the winter. He has no idea early one morning when he sees the sky light up with flashes of what he believes to be lightning, that the English world is forever changed.

The sheriff in town confirms reports of power outages all across the country, causing widespread panic, looting, and rioting everywhere. Most of the people in the community are happy to work with the Amish and Mennonite families, because daily life for them is the same…

I love how the authors did such thorough research that I found myself deeply involved in the story. The characters are realistic, the action is more than enough to hold your interest and the ending… well, you’ll see (if you read it).

There’s so much more I could tell you, but I’d really rather encourage you to read the Meek for yourself. If you enjoy Amish suspense novels, you’ll love this new story by these amazing authors!

Happy Reading!

God Bless You!
