A Mom For His Daughter | Jean C. Gordon

Today I am reviewing A Mom For His Daughter, a Love Inspired story by Jean C. Gordon.

Here is a brief synopsis:

A Dad’s Second Chance

Widowed single dad Marc Delacroix doesn’t have time for surprises—especially one like Fiona Bryce. Finding out that she’s the biological aunt of his adopted daughter, Stella, is a big shock.

While Fiona’s commitment to the little girl appears to be genuine, Marc wonders if he can truly trust her—or his own heart, which he vowed never to risk again.

Fiona’s eager to connect with the sweet young niece she never knew she had, but Marc seems determined to keep her at arm’s length. Could Marc and Fiona’s shared love of Stella be the bond that transforms their fragile connection into a real family?

MY THOUGHTS:

I totally understood Marc wanting to help his young adopted daughter to feel comfortable around other children. . . and his reluctance to include the child’s aunt in his daughter’s life. It’s difficult to trust — especially after you lose the people closest to you.

But of course when Marc and Fiona develop feelings for one another, we’re all rooting for them! After all, they both experienced so much pain and loss, and they certainly deserved a happily ever after story!

And I loved how Marc — and Fiona — push beyond their own comfort zones to do what was best for young Stella, even though Marc’s own mother discouraged him. Thank goodness his sister was there to encourage him to do the right thing.

Don’t miss this sweet story of happily ever after!

Happy Reading!

Blessings!

The Wedding Quilt Bride | Marta Perry

Today I am reviewing The Wedding Quilt Bride, the second book in the Brides of Lost Creek series by Marta Perry.

Here is a brief synopsis:

The single mom’s second chance…

To become one of the Brides of Lost Creek!

Widow Rebecca Mast returns to her Amish community with her son and a dream—to own a quilt shop.

Carpenter Daniel King is determined to help Rebecca and revive their childhood friendship.

But as he bonds with her son, Rebecca’s afraid the secret she’s been keeping will be revealed.

Can Daniel convince Rebecca he’s a man she can trust—and love?

MY THOUGHTS:

Rebecca Mast is determined to make it on her own. . . not exactly the Amish way of life, but she has her reasons. Only thing is, Daniel King is determined to help her, whether she wants his help or not!

Marta Perry caught my attention right away and held it til the end. This was a wonderful story, without delving too deeply into the dark side, yet showing what pain and suffering can do to families.

I hope the story blesses you as much as it did me.

Happy Reading!

Blessings!

Whew… exciting stories!

In this fourth book of the series, tension mounts as Jay Rico convinces Candace that her entire family is in danger unless she does exactly as he says. . .  and she’s determined to protect her family. Dana Mentink creates complex, interesting characters – and if you haven’t read the other stories in this series, let me encourage you to do so… you can read just one – or all four in sequence – but just do it!

Holiday Homecoming | Jean C. Gordon Marathon

Today I am reviewing Holiday Homecoming, the 2nd book in the Donnelly Brothers series by Jean C. Gordon.

Here is a brief synopsis:

The Pastor’s Christmas Match

Pastor Connor Donnelly is done with romance.

After proposing to his high school sweetheart, Natalie Delacroix, five years ago — and being turned down — he’s putting all his time and energy into his community.

He’s determined to make the Christmas pageant he’s directing a success.

But family and friends are set on fixing up the good-looking bachelor in time for the holidays.

And now that Natalie is back in Paradox Lake — and helping with the pageant — they might just succeed.

Because working so closely with Natalie stirs up old feelings . . . and Connor starts to hope for a second chance with the one who got away.

HOLIDAY HOMECOMING . . . Don’t miss this heart-warming Christmas story by Jean C. Gordon – Tweet this!

MY THOUGHTS:

Christmas in July! Yeah!

HOLIDAY HOMECOMING was an absolute JOY to read!

Natalie Delacroix and Pastor Conner Donnelly were once in love. But Natalie chose her career over staying with Conner. When she returns home after five years, Conner is happily settled as the pastor of the community church.

When they are selected to work on the Christmas pageant together, it seems as if everyone is determined to get them back together. When career choices interfere, who will stay and who will go?

From the first page, I knew this was going to be a fun, delightful read. I’d love to share an example, if you’ll indulge me . . . such as when Natalie and Conner get locked in the attic by a couple of matchmakers!

But, of course, things don’t always work out the way we would choose. When Natalie get another job offer, it doesn’t look promising for her and Conner.

If you enjoy Love Inspired books, you’re going to love HOLIDAY HOMECOMING. If you like reading Christmas stories — and romance stories, you’ll be over-the-top, because this Love Inspired book has it all.

I honestly can’t praise it enough!

Read. The. Book.

You’ll love it!

A Hometown Reunion

The motocross champion hasn’t been home in years, but the former bad boy is as gorgeous as she remembers.

And his kindness toward her kids melts her heart.

Her children’s welfare is her priority, and her former in-laws have made it clear they don’t approve of Jared or his plans.

Soon Becca may have to choose between her heart…and her home.

MY THOUGHTS:

What an exciting story!

Becca Norton is in a rough spot. She’d like to get to know her high school crush, Jared Donnelly, a little better, but there’s a problem — her in-laws don’t approve of him. I didn’t have any trouble identifying with her . . . and yep, it’s a rough spot to be in.

Like me, Becca spends too much time trying to appease everyone else, and nothing she does really makes her happy — and it doesn’t make the situation any better. Still, she continues to try…

Does it work out? Well, I’m not going to reveal that! But let me assure you that it’s a great story — with some awesome moments for Becca and Jared! And we get to meet some interesting characters along the way.

Jean C. Gordon writes some of the most amazing romances I’ve read! Don’t ask me to choose a favorite; that would be impossible! My suggestion — don’t read just one . . . read them all!

Happy Reading!

Small-Town Midwife | Jean C. Gordon Marathon

Today I am reviewing Small-Town Midwife… the 4th Love Inspired Small-Town romance by Jean C. Gordon.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Unexpected Arrival

Autumn Hazard loves being a midwife. But a tragic loss has her doubting the path she’s chosen.

And her new boss isn’t helping. She’s worked with Dr. Jonathan Hanlon before, and he’s just as handsome and seemingly perfect as ever.

His presence could mean trouble for the clinic—and her sensible heart.

Jon remembers Autumn, too. She’s still beautiful, smart and oblivious to him.

Maybe that’s for the best—he’s leaving the small town as soon as his training’s done.

Besides, he has secrets of his own, and he can’t risk Autumn getting close enough to uncover them.

Yet despite all their reservations, working beside each other doesn’t feel like work at all…it feels like home.

MY THOUGHTS:

And now, for the last story in the series…

We first met Autumn Hazard in book one — Small-Town Sweethearts — when her dad left for a tour of duty in Afghanistan. In book two, Small-Town Dad, Autumn is in college, along with her dad. Now Autumn is all grown up and working as a midwife at the Ticonderoga Birthing Center.

However, there are problems concerning her duties . . . I’ll let you read this story for yourself to find out just what the problems involve. But let me assure you, it’s a great story, with heart-warming, lovable characters.

Don’t miss this delightful series!

Small-Town Mom | Jean C. Gordon Marathon

Today I am reviewing Small-Town Mom… the 3rd Love Inspired Small-Town romance by Jean C. Gordon.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Jamie Glasser has two ironclad rules: raise her kids the best way she knows how and and no more military men!

The widowed mother of three lost to the army her late husband and her faith in God, but she can’t avoid former air force lieutenant colonel Eli Payton.

The handsome high school guidance counselor is committed to helping Jamie’s rebellious teenage son.

But it’s Jamie who’s tested when she’s irresistibly drawn to Eli.

Here, in the family-centered community of Paradox Lake, can a woman at a crossroads find the courage to reclaim her faith and give love another chance?

MY THOUGHTS:

Jamie Glasser is determined not to ever get involved with another man — especially one who has a military background, or, Heaven help her, is on active duty. After all, Jamie lost her husband just before he was scheduled to return home.

Unfortunately, when she has to visit the school guidance counselor with her son, she the meets newly-hired, former air force lieutenant colonel Eli Payton. Of course, I was rooting for Eli part of the time — and Jamie part of the time.

What will happen? I can’t tell . . . there’s lots of twists and turns, but even when it doesn’t turn out the way I expect it to, it works out. And that’s all I’m going to say about it.

Jean continues the Small-Town saga . . . adding more delightful characters and lots of excitement. Be sure to get a copy and read it for yourself.

You’re gonna love it!

Happy Reading!

Small-Town Dad | Jean C. Gordon Marathon

Today I am reviewing Small-Town Dad… the 2nd Love Inspired Small-Town romance by Jean C. Gordon.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Small-town electrician Neal Hazard gave up his dreams years ago to raise his daughter.

Now it’s his turn to make those dreams a reality.

But when his community college advisor turns out to be his high school prom date, he can’t believe his eyes.

Widowed Anne is more beautiful than he remembers, and completely wrapped up in her career.

But when she suddenly becomes guardian to an orphaned toddler, it’s Neal’s turn to teach Anne a few things.

Maybe together, they’ll learn how priorities, parenthood and love truly fit together to create a family.

Small-Town Dad… a Love Inspired Small-Town romance by Jean C. Gordon – Tweet this!

MY THOUGHTS:

In the first book, Neal Hazard left for a tour in Afghanistan. Now he’s back — and his daughter has talked him into going back to school (well, actually for the first time, since his college plans were curtailed after high school).

And when Anne Howard, his college advisor turns out to be his high school prom date . . . well, it’s a little awkward — for both of them. And it only gets worse, instead of better.

And that’s all I’m sayin’ — so you need to read it for yourself.

Jean takes her readers on a bumpy ride at times, with more than a few surprises. But it’s definitely worth the trip. I had a great time getting to know Anne, plus Neal and his family.

Don’t miss this exciting sequel to Small-Town Sweethearts!

Small-Town Sweethearts | Jean C. Gordon Marathon

Today I am reviewing Small-Town Sweethearts… the 1st Love Inspired Small-Town romance by Jean C. Gordon.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Summoned as temporary guardian for her teenage niece, Emily Hazard returns to Paradox Lake.

On one condition — —she won’t let herself think about staying.

Emily always felt like a misfit in her tiny hometown.

But she doesn’t count on falling for handsome Drew Stacey, a former Wall Streeter who’s getting the town church camp ready.

Though he surprises Emily with his handiness with tools, understanding of teenagers and his steady faith, she’ll soon head back to New York.

Unless her small-town sweetheart asks her to stay forever.

Small-Town Sweethearts… a Love Inspired Small-Town romance by Jean C. Gordon – Tweet this!

MY THOUGHTS:

What a wonderful story!

Emily Hazard, otherwise known as “Jinx” to her family and friends in Paradox Lake, returns home to help out her brother while he’s away. But she didn’t expect to get rear-ended her first day back…

Drew Stacey just happens to be working at the campground — and close enough to cause rumors that would make them both uncomfortable.

As much as she loves her brother — and his daughter — Emily had no idea when she volunteered to help him, that Autumn would push the limits as much as she does. She’s even more surprised when she hears Drew talking about his kids!

Jean C. Gordon has a unique style of writing stories that sound perfectly true. I guess that’s why I get pulled into them so easily — and find myself unable to stop read until I’ve reached the end. But even better, last week I read all 4 books in this series in 4 nights! By the time Friday came around, I was almost convinced that if I drove north until I found Paradox Lake, that I’d enjoy meeting everyone. I might even be convinced to stay!

Don’t take my word for it . . . pick up the entire series and read them for yourself. You’re gonna love them…

Happy Reading!
