Top 25 Authors of 2018

This was a VERY difficult list to create… first, I began gathering the names of all my favorite authors. After re-checking my bookcases and bookshelf blog, I found that I have well over 100 names! Now, this might not sound like a lot to some of you, but I was astounded that I had that many favorite authors – those whom I refuse to part with their books!

I began paring down… whew, that was rough! What I really wanted to do was to name them all — but that seemed to defeat the purpose of listing the TOP chosen few.

I tried — I really did — and I still didn’t get everyone on the list that I hoped to!

So… without further adieu.

Here’s my personal list of the TOP TWENTY-FIVE AUTHORS for 2019:

Jennifer Beckstrand    Vannetta Chapman    Valerie Comer    Rachel L. Miller

Dana Mentink    JC Morrows    Macy Morrows    Tricia Goyer    Ruth Logan Herne

Jean C. Gordon    Barbara Cameron    Suzanne Woods Fisher    Charlotte Hubbard

Ruth Reid    Shelley Shepard Gray    Molly Jebber    Kathy Fuller    Kelly Irvin

Lilian Jackson Braun    Emma Miller   Amos Wyse    Laura J. Marshall

Grace Livingston Hill    Philip Gulley    Jan Karon

God bless you!

An Unexpected Christmas Blessing | Molly Jebber

Today I am reviewing An Unexpected Christmas Blessing, part of a compilation of three stories in The Amish Christmas Sleigh by Kelly Long, Amy Lillard, and Molly Jebber.

Here is a brief synopsis:

A handsome newcomer with secrets shows a yearning Amish woman a chance at happiness—but their love will need all their courage to keep . . .

Through the snowy night, silver bells ring cheerfully, heralding a season of secret gifts, unexpected chances, and love’s sweetest journeys . . .

As much as Charity Lantz’s children need a father, the young widow isn’t sure her new neighbor Luke Fisher can ever be the right choice. They’re having more disagreements than snowflakes in December. Besides, he’s never given a sign he wants to be more than friends. Can Gott show them a way past their misunderstandings to a forever love?

MY THOUGHTS:

This is such a great beginning for a new Amish series!

What a beautiful Christmas blessing! I loved how Charity Lantz is willing to lay aside her grief and marry again, for the sake of her children, as well as for the children of the widower who has expressed interest in bringing their families together.

Molly Jebber writes a wonderful Christmas love story — one that you’ll enjoy reading year after year.

Happy Reading!

God bless you!

and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Now she’s perfectly content to cook up mouth-watering delights for her hometown, give to those alone or in trouble—and remain happily unwed. And though she’s willing to give handsome, newly-arrived widower Jacob Graber all the help he desperately needs, she is sure they can stay just friends . . .

But as Liza also tries to aid Jacob’s troubled teenage daughter, she starts caring far too much for his gentle ways and steadfast hopes. Joshua’s Bride | Molly Jebber

Today I am reviewing Joshua’s Bride, part of a compilation of three stories in Amish Brides by Jennifer Beckstrand, Molly Jebber, and Amy Lillard.

MY THOUGHTS:

Madeline Lehman was thrilled to accept Joshua Stutzman’s marriage proposal. . . but she doesn’t want to marry until his parents approve.

But will they ever forget the past and give their approval to the marriage?

When Maddie adopts her sister’s baby, marriage to Joshua seems hopeless. . .

I could tell you what happens, but that would spoil the book for you! And I really don’t want to do that! So… get your own copy and read it. And while you’re at it, read the other two stories, too.

Happy Reading!

Two Suitors for Anna | Molly Jebber

Today I am reviewing Two Suitors for Anna, the third book in the A Keepsake Pocket Quilt series by Molly Jebber.

MY THOUGHTS:

Molly Jebber  has written a superb sequel in this series!

Normally, the first book of the series is the hardest to write. After all, the writer is introducing the main characters, the community, and creating a story around them. And Molly did a great job with Change of Heart, the first book in the series.

But I have to say how much I enjoyed reading Two Suitors for Anna. . . poor Anna has a difficult, if not impossible, task of getting through to Noah, who brushes off her ideas, her opinions, and her decisions.

Noah may be a wonderful person, but honestly, I wanted to smack him upside the head a few times! I don’t want to ruin the story for you, so I’ll stop now. . . with a plea to read this amazing story!

Happy Reading!

Yet the pull of first love is strong and deep, especially when Noah returns. Through each revelation, Anna must search her faith for guidance, knowing she is choosing not just a husband, but a life to nurture and to share…

Grace’s Forgiveness | Molly Jebber

Today I am reviewing Grace’s Forgiveness, the second book in the A Keepsake Pocket Quilt series by Molly Jebber.

MY THOUGHTS:

I’m enjoying this series much more than I expected to at first! This second book is easy to identify with, as I have had several friends with birthmarks, and I understand how difficult it is to live with at times, especially if it’s on or near your face.

Grace was born with a large birthmark on her face — and it seems like no one can look past it and see who she really is.

And no, I’m not going to tell you what happens, Because I don’t want to spoil the book for you! So… get a copy and read it.

You’re gonna LOVE it!

Happy Reading!

Grace can well understand why Mark took such a risk once she hears his wrenching reasons. But she fears even prayer will not convince her father to restore his blessing on their union.
