Wow! I was NOT expecting so much! So many twists and turns! So many surprises!!!

It really is the perfect sequel to the series! If you’ve been reading the Order of the MoonStone stories, I’m sure you’ll agree with me.

JC Morrows is an amazing author/storyteller. I don’t normally like cliff-hangers. Most likely, not many readers do. But once I had read A Reluctant Assassin, I was hooked. I had to keep reading each sequel–and each sequel ended abruptly, making me squirm until the next story was available.

The last story ended on another cliff-hanger! A heart-wrenching ending. This story begins with Kayden… lost, alone, struggling to live up to Dvarius’ expectations. But the love of her life is gone.

And that’s all I’ll say.

Honestly, I can’t say much about this story without giving away something. It seemed like each chapter brought new surprises! Unexpected twists and turns around each corner!

So while I can say the characters are appealing, colorful, and inventive… with grab-your-attention-and-won’t-let-go action from the beginning to the end, I can’t say much else, except…

All of them.

Do yourself a favor and get the whole series–five novels and five short stories–and read them in order. It doesn’t matter if you choose paperback or digital copies, just read them.

And hey, while you’re at it, if you enjoy them, please take a minute and write a review on Amazon. A sentence or two will do–even a few thoughtful words is enough. It’s a wonderful way to let the author know you like her books–and it’s a great way to let other readers know that these are books worth reading.

Until next time…

Happy Reading!

A Tragic Consequence | JC Morrows

A Tragic Consequence
Today I am reviewing A Tragic Consequence, the 4th novel in the Order of the MoonStone series, by JC Morrows.

Here is a brief synopsis:

ON THE RUN . . .

Not exactly a safe place for a former assassin and a prince with a price on his head.

In the dark streets of Auralius, Kayden and her prince struggle to find a way to set the country right again. But the Order of the MoonStone has a long reach and a strong grip.

Will the two of them be able to find a way to bring down Kayden’s former employers? Or will Kayden’s unusual charm help them to find an ally where there was none?

A Tragic Consequence by JC Morrows… will Kayden and Dvarius survive? What will happen to Drey? Don’t miss this action-packed sequel!  – Tweet this!

I was NOT expecting so much new info!!!

It’s the perfect sequel . . . if you’ve been reading the Order of the MoonStone stories, I’m sure you’ll agree with me. But, after reading this book, I don’t know what could come next —  or if I even want to read the final book in the series.

Oh, who am I kidding? Of course, I’ll read the next book!

I’ll be on pins and needles until it comes out. I mean, what can JC Morrows add? What else could possibly happen?

I should have know when I bought JC’s book and she handed me a package of tisues . . . oh yeah, I should have known!

When Kayden and Dvarius enlist the help of another agent, things get really exciting! Kayden learns something about her past — something unexpected. But far too soon the newlyweds are on their way back to face the Order. What will happen? Will they win — or lose — the battle?

You know I can’t tell you – I truly can’t. This time I’m really glad I can’t tell. Grab a box of tissues and read it for yourself.

Happy Reading! JUST DO IT!

A Desperate Escape | JC Morrows

Today I am reviewing A Desperate Escape, the 3rd novel in the Order of the MoonStone series, by JC Morrows.

Here is a brief synopsis:

A Secret . . . A Confession . . . A Decision . . . that will change the lives of an entire country.

The palace is scrambling to recover from a brutal assault . . . the country is in disarray . . . and the royal security team is on edge like never before.

Kayden entered the palace under a lie . . . a lie that has now been exposed.

And now . . .

Prince Dvarius has to decide what to do with his reluctant assassin.

A Desperate Escape by JC Morrows… will Kayden make it out alive? Don’t miss this action-packed sequel!  – Tweet this!

It’s stupendous! It’s everything I’ve been waiting to read in this series… now the action comes alive!

What can I say! Kayden continues to steal the show!

But this time Dvarius gets in on the action, too.

When Kayden tells him she was sent to kill him, what will he do? I wish I could tell you more… about what happens when the palace is attacked from the outside . . . and other operatives are found in the palace… and what happens to Dvarius – and his reluctant assassin . . .

But I can’t – I truly can’t. You’ll have to read it for yourself – and the sooner, the better. The only other thing I can suggest is for you to read the entire series, if you haven’t already done so.

This is a great series, comparable to The Selection series and The Lunar Chronicles!

I read on MuggleNet that it may be the next fanfiction!!!

Don’t miss it…

Happy Reading!

JC Morrows’ Reluctant Assassin series may be the newest FANFIC for 2016! Don’t miss it!Tweet this!

A Treacherous Decision | JC Morrows Marathon

I am reviewing A Treacherous Decision, the second book in the Order of the MoonStone series by JC Morrows.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Kayden’s mission should have been simple – she was sent to kill the prince . . . not to fall in love with him.

Within the palace walls, Kayden has discovered that things are not as she expected.

Is there more to the royal family, or . . . is there a more sinister depth to Drey’s mission?

Dvarius thought his mind was made up – but will he have the resolve to see it through?

Between attacks from outside the palace – and within, will the Prince live long enough to choose his Queen?

And will Kayden choose to follow her head . . . or her heart, knowing that her decision could very well make her a target as well!

A Treacherous Decision… book 2 in the Order of the MoonStone series by JC Morrows – Tweet this!

JC Morrows is an amazing writer!

I was drawn into this story immediately — Kayden lying on a hospital bed, with Dvarius sitting beside her, not knowing if she would recover. Oh, my goodness!

I felt as if I were in the room with them — and I didn’t stop reading until the end. Actually, I was perched on the edge of my chair — unable to sit still, at least through the first few chapters.

I was thrilled to learn that book two picks up where book one ended — with Kayden getting stabbed!

I read somewhere that it isn’t good form to end a book on a cliffhanger, but I remember all my favorite television shows ending on a cliffhanger; good grief — some of them ended the season that way!

Does anyone else remember watching Dallas, when JR was shot?

I don’t mind a cliffhanger. For me, it adds thrill and intrigue to the story . . . and makes me eager to read the next book in the series. There are lots of secrets in books one and two that haven’t been revealed, but that just makes it more exciting to read.

Will Kayden survive? Will she be the new Princess/Queen? Who else is in the castle, intent upon killing the Prince — or was Kayden the intended victim? I can’t say . . . I really can’t.

If you enjoy YA fantasy, suspense, intrigue, and romance — whatever you do, don’t miss this series!

Happy Reading!

A Reluctant Assassin | JC Morrows Marathon

I am reviewing A Reluctant Assassin… the first book in the Order of the MoonStone series by JC Morrows.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Her mission was simple — get close to the Prince, and kill him…

Kayden entered the palace under a lie, one designed to get her close to the Prince. On the outside, she may look like a princess but beneath the mask, a killer lays in wait — for the perfect moment.

Dvarius was not ready to take the crown, nor was he ready for a wife…

But due to his father’s unexpected death and an archaic law — he must find a bride before he is allowed to take his rightful place on the throne.

And the one woman he wants — just might be the one who is there to kill him…

A RELUCTANT ASSASSIN by JC Morrows… don’t miss this exciting new series! – Tweet this!

A Reluctant Assassin is oh-so-wonderful…

It’s the typical “Prince Charming will choose his bride at the ball” story – except for a teensy, tiny twist. One of the ladies at the ball was sent to kill… eliminate… assassinate… the Prince. As the author puts it so eloquently —

“What if Cinderella had been sent to kill the Prince?”

Oh. My. Gosh.

I have always loved the Cinderella stories… one of my favorite movies is Ever After – to me it’s the most realistic Cinderella story ever told. And I have books – lots of books – with princes, princesses, kings and queens. But this is the first book I’ve owned with a prince – and an assassin!

Without making the story a thousand pages, JC Morrows gives the reader enough back-story to stay interesting – just a few hints – while creating intriguing, bigger-than-life characters, who keep the reader – well, reading. And she throws in a plot guaranteed to keep anyone on their toes.

JC purposely leaves out information, such as why Kayden is an assassin… and why there seem to be others whose goal is to kill the Prince. If her intent is to make me eager to read the next story in the series – it’s working!

I’m beginning to feel sorry for the Prince. What has he ever done to deserve this? He hasn’t even begun to rule, and from the looks of things, he may never be crowned.

And… that’s enough to share for now. If your interest is piqued, get the book.

JC Morrows is a talented storyteller – you can tell by the success of A Reluctant Assassin. Although she previously released a short story in this series, Morrow’s success has been tremendous! The day after it released, A Reluctant Assassin reached the #1 spot on Amazon (YA action/adventure) – and it stayed the #1 choice (for hot new YA action/adventure releases) since its’ debut almost 30 days ago.

This story was SO MUCH more than I expected — and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series!

Don’t wait another minute to read this story!

Happy Reading!

The Road to Paradise | Karen Barnett

Today I am reviewing The Road to Paradise, a Vintage National Parks Novel by Karen Barnett.

Here is a brief synopsis:

In 1927, Margie Lane, an avid naturalist, convinces her Senator father to procure her a position at the fledgling Mount Rainier National Park.

Since Ranger Ford Brannon lost his father in a climbing accident, he doubts his ability to protect the park and its many visitors.

He certainly doesn’t relish the job of watching over an idealistic and privileged young woman with no practical survival skills.

When Margie’s former fiance sets his mind on developing the Paradise Inn and its surroundings into a tourist playground, Margie and Ford will have to work together to preserve the beauty and simplicity of this mountain hideaway, but the developer’s plans might put more than just the park in danger.

I was excited to meet Karen Barnett at the Christian Fiction Readers Retreat this past August… and she graciously gifted me a book. When I offered to read and review her book, she autographed another book for a giveaway!

If this book sounds interesting and you would like to win a copy, leave a comment… and you just might be the winner of a copy of The Road to Paradise: A Vintage National Parks Novel.

The promised view of the mountain peak waited, cloaked in mist like a tissue-wrapped gift not ready to be unveiled.

Doesn’t that make you want to keep reading? I certainly did…and I did!

This book is inspiring, with humor and colorful characters. Margaret Lane, the daughter of a U.S. Senator, and Chief Ranger Ford Brayden are indeed inspiring characters, as they fight to save the national park.

Happy Reading!

Weddings at Promise Lodge | Charlotte Hubbard

Today I am reviewing Weddings at Promise Lodge by Charlotte Hubbard.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Founded by the three Bender sisters, the Amish community of Promise Lodge is thriving—and growing. In fact, residents are thrilled to welcome a charismatic new arrival—one who may not just strengthen their faith, but put it to the test…

When Christine Bender meets widowed Bishop Monroe Burkholder, it’s love at first sight. But Preacher Amos finds him too good to be true, and is determined to find out what’s behind his sudden, unannounced arrival.

Still, the colony needs a new bishop, and everyone is excited to have a younger, more progressive leader. As for Christine, Monroe returns her affection, but her bubble is soon burst with the arrival of a young woman half his age…

Leola Duff claims Monroe “ruined” her and she now intends to make an honest man of him. But throughout the process of discovering the truth, Christine never doubts that Monroe is the fine man she believes him to be—and never wavers in her faith that all will work out as it should.

And when Monroe is forced to confess the truth before the entire congregation, he can only pray that open hearts and minds will prevail, allowing him a future at Promise Lodge—with Christine . . .

Charlotte Hubbard is one of my favorite Amish fiction authors! From the moment I begin reading a new story, I’m pulled into the it and now that I’m retired, I usually don’t stop reading until I’m done.

This story is awesome! I enjoyed visiting Mattie, Rosetta, and Christine, the Bender sisters, who were determined to have a fresh start in a new community. Recently, widowed Bishop Monroe Burkholder has relocated to their community — and falls in love with Christine Bender.

But when another woman shows up, claiming that the bishop has ruined her, what is Christine supposed to do? Trust him? Or give him up?

Honestly, I had no idea what to believe… I wanted to believe the bishop, but Charlotte has introduced me to more than one dishonest character in bishop’s clothing! Obviously, I was hooked… and kept reading till the very end. Wow! If you want to know what happens, pick up a copy of Weddings at Promise Lodge and read it for yourself.

Charlotte has created a wonderful new community in Promise Lodge, with fascinating characters and intriguing possibilities in this new series.

Don’t wait another minute. Order your copy today… you’re gonna love it!!!

Cowboy Christmas Guardian | Dana Mentink

Today I am reviewing Cowboy Christmas Guardian, the first novel in the Gold Country Cowboys series by Dana Mentink.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Someone is dead set on stopping Shelby Arroyo from doing her job: assessing mineral rights in a mine in gold country.

But after rancher Barrett Thorn rescues her from an attack, the handsome widowed cowboy seems to feel responsible for her.

That is, until he discovers she’s from the family that he’ll never forgive for his wife’s death.

As the threats against Shelby escalate, cowboy honor and an unexpected attraction keep Barrett by her side, even at his own risk.

And since Shelby won’t back down, Barrett must protect the brave, loyal woman he has no business falling for…a woman someone wants to kill by Christmas.

I am a huge fan of Dana Mentink!

I’ve enjoyed reading her books for years — and now I have a new favorite series:

Gold Country Cowboys!

The code of the West rules the land for these men!

And Barrett Thorn certainly lives by this code. When Shelby Arroyo finds herself in trouble, Barrett rides in on his horse to rescue her! And when she’s determined to finish her job, Barrett continues to protect her from those who are trying to harm her.

Oh my goodness! I love this story! I’m already looking forward to the next story in the series..

Happy Reading!

Her Blue-Eyed Lieutenant | Linda Ellen

Today I am reviewing Her Blue-Eyed Lieutenant, the 3rd story in the Soldiers of Swing series by Linda Ellen.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Until now, Gary Tucker’s life had been one of privilege and wealth.

His long-lost brothers figured he’d had everything handed to him on a silver platter.

But he’d had struggles of a different kind—like the struggle to break free of Gareth B. Tucker, Sr.’s iron-fisted control—to be his own man.

No one really understood what it was like to be Gareth Tucker, Jr….no one that is, except Julie. Julie Banks was beautiful, wholesome, smart and funny—and his brother’s little sister.

Gene thought of her as just a kid—but Gary saw her as the woman of his dreams. Therein lay the problem. Were they destined to remain best friends, never taking their relationship farther than that?

Overshadowing all of this, however, was the War. More than anything, Gary wanted to join the conflict and fly bombers over Germany and Japan. Would he get the opportunity?

Could he find a way to become the man he knew he was called to be—and would the woman he loved be by his side when it was all said and done?

If you love stories about WWII and the “Greatest Generation” that read like you’re watching a classic movie, with handsome soldiers and beautiful girls-next-door, then Her Blue-Eyed Lieutenant is for you!

Historical novels are not usually my genre… but I can’t say enough about this wonderful series!

In this third story, Gene’s brother Gary joins the military. Julie Banks, Gene’s stepsister, finds herself attracted to Gary–but Gary is trying to do the right thing by keeping his distance. After all, she’s his brother’s kid sister, isn’t she?

Actually, this just might be my favorite story in the series…

I really hope you’ve already picked up a copy of these books. Take my advice; they’re best when you have time to read all three in a row. Now go get reading!

If you don’t have it yet, be sure to pick up a copy of Her Blue-Eyed Lieutenant today!

if you enjoy exciting romance, you’ll love this series. Especially since they’re clean reads!

Happy Reading!

God bless you!
