About the Book

Book: Through the Autumn Air

Author: Kelly Irvin

Genre: Amish Romance

Release Date: August 14, 2018

A mysterious English stranger appears in Mary Katherine Ropp’s kitchen one autumn night, heralding the beginning of a new chapter in the widow’s life.

The mother of ten, Mary Katherine is an empty-nester who lost her husband four years earlier. She misses her husband so much, she still talks to him. She pours her creative spirit into writing stories and serves as the district’s Budget newspaper scribe. An avid reader, her dream is to open a bookstore with her English friend, but the church elders want this wayward widow to work in an Amish-owned combination store.

When an English man breaks into her house looking for food, Mary Katherine doesn’t call the sheriff. She turns to her good friend, Ezekiel, who needs a cook at the restaurant he started after his wife died ten years earlier. Mary Katherine and Ezekiel set out separately to make sure their new friend isn’t caught up in the investigation, and their efforts keep bringing them together. They’re both still so in love with their long-gone spouses, so when the sparks begin to fly, they are beyond confused. Is it possible to find “The One” more than once in a lifetime?

But as Mary Katherine stands by her dear friend after the death of her husband, Mary Katherine is reminded of the terrible risk in giving her heart to someone. Can these two people, well-versed in the pain of loss, put the past behind them and trust in the hope of the future?

Beneath the Summer Sun | Kelly Irvin Marathon

Today I am reviewing Beneath the Summer Sun, the second book in the Every Amish Season series by Kelly Irvin.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Jennie Troyer knows it’s time to remarry, and with two men pursuing her, she doesn’t have to look far. But after the pain she’s experienced, can she open her heart to love?

It’s been four years since Jennie’s husband died in a farming accident. Long enough that the elders in her Amish community think it’s time to shed her grief and remarry for the sake of her seven children. What they don’t know is it isn’t grief that’s holding her back, but rather a fear of a repeat of her abusive marriage.

Paul Graber has known–and loved–Jennie since they were children, and he’d hoped to court her when they were teenagers. But when he was fourteen, Paul’s father died suddenly in his arms. Ever since he’s been afraid of the searing pain of loss that comes from opening himself up to love. Now Jennie’s free again and he’s fighting to have the courage not to lose her a second time.

Nathan Walker is a Mennonite book salesman who makes it a point to stop by Jennie’s farm as often as he can. He’s grown to care for her, but he knows he has no right to court her unless he resolves his own struggle with his faith. He will have to change everything about his life in order to join the Jamesport Amish community. But would he be embracing a new life or running from his old?

The path isn’t clear for any of them. These three people, drawn together by circumstances and God’s plan, must come to grips with their pasts in order to discern God’s plan for their futures and find peace beneath the summer sun.

MY THOUGHTS:

Four years after the death of her spouse, Jennie is pursued by not one, but two men. Leo Graber has been in love with Jennie since before her first marriage. Nathan Walker has been in love with her for years. Leo Graber is Amish. Nathan Walker is Mennonite.

Meanwhile the community can’t understand why Jennie hasn’t married and provided a father for her seven children. But Jennie has a terrible secret. . . and, in my opinion, the author addresses it in the best possible way.

This story deserves its’ own box of tissues.

These stories has had a profound effect on me and I am looking forward to the next two books in the series. They will definitely capture your attention and hold it tightly until the very end.

Kelly Irvin has written an heart-felt story! Don’t miss this wonderful series. Pick up a copy today. . .

Happy Reading!!!

God bless you!

Upon A Spring Breeze | Kelly Irvin Marathon

Today I am reviewing Upon A Spring Breeze, the first book in the Every Amish Season series by Kelly Irvin.

Here is a brief synopsis:

After a devastating winter, a spring breeze promises more than new flowers.… It promises a new chance at love.

Bess Weaver, twenty and expecting her first child, is in the kitchen making stew for her beloved mann, Caleb, one minute, and the next she’s burying him after a tragic accident.

Facing life as a young widow, Bess finds comfort only in tending the garden at an Englisch-owned bed and breakfast—even as she doubts that new growth could ever come after such a long winter.

Aidan tries to repress his guilt over his best friend Caleb’s death and his long-standing feelings for Bess by working harder than ever. But as he spends time with the young son his friend left behind, he seems to be growing closer to the boy’s beautiful mother as well.

When a close-knit group of widows in her Amish community step in to help Bess find her way back to hope, she begins to wonder if Gott has a future for her after all. Will she ever believe that life can still hold joy and the possibility of love?

MY THOUGHTS:

What an amazing author!

I felt like I was in the midst of the story myself when Aiden came into the house to give the news to Bess and her mother-in-law Mattie. And Kelly Irvin did a wonderful job at showing how different people deal with bad news. . . and how difficult it can be for those who take longer to get over it

Bess and Aiden take longer than everyone to deal with their grief. . . Bess can’t see beyond her loss, and Aiden can’t seem to forgive himself for his part in his best friend’s tragic death. Will they ever look toward the future and leave the past behind?

This series promises a wonderful look at the different seasons of life. Grab a copy of this first story and don’t forget to have plenty of tissues on hand.

Kelly Irvin has written an awesome story! I enjoyed it so much, I couldn’t wait to write the review and pick up the next book in the series to continue reading.

Happy Reading!!!

God bless you!

Plum Upside Down | Valerie Comer

Today I am reviewing Plum Upside Down, the 5th book in the Farm Fresh Romance series by Valerie Comer.

Here is a brief synopsis:

Topsy-Turvy… or Right-Side Up?

Green Acres newcomer Chelsea Riehl is annoyed she’s assigned to farm work alongside the only other single, a faith-filled hippie with a missionary vision.

She’d hoped to organize events and keep her heart safe, not pit plums with annoying Keanan Welsh.

Discouraged by Chelsea’s lack of spiritual depth, Keanan is confused when she offers to arrange meals for the church Alpha program he is co-hosting.

Maybe he misjudged her, after all.

When fake it ’til you make it gives way to stepping out in faith, both Chelsea and Keanan have some soul-searching to do.

And while getting on the same page spiritually is a good start, other barriers may keep their budding romance from flipping right-side up.

Plum Upside Down: A Farm Fresh Romance . . . by Valerie ComerTweet this!

MY THOUGHTS:
Chelsea Riehl, Sierra’s sister, has finally decided to join her sister and their new friends at Green Acres Farm. But they keep assigning her boring things to do — and always with their “resident hippy” who, to put it mildly, gets on her nerves.

There’s not much organizing for her to do yet; even worse, she didn’t realize she would be putting in so many hours on cooking, gardening, etc. And the only single man nearby is not someone she would like to get to know better. What’s a girl to do? Will she stay put — or will she return home? After all, she’s still organizing events in her hometown . . . it would be easier to actually be there.

I sure hope I haven’t said too much. I’m always trying to not reveal any spoilers, because I really want you to read the book for yourself. It’s a great book . . . and . . .

I’m really thrilled to hear that it won’t be the last one in this series. Valerie does such an amazing job, promoting a farm fresh lifestyle in this series. The characters are fun, interesting, and life gets messy for them – just like it does for us.

Don’t miss out on this wonderful series.

Happy Reading!

Dandelions For Dinner | Valerie Comer

Today I am reviewing Dandelions For Dinner, the 4th book in the Farm Fresh Romance series by Valerie Comer.

Here is a brief synopsis:

She hates him.

He loves her not.

Men are weeds. Allison Hart doesn’t need them in her carefully tended life, though her friends at Green Acres seem happy with their guys.

Why can’t Allison open her heart to anyone but her young nephew?

Then again, he’ll be a man one day, too. If only the irritating contractor in charge of building her home and farm school wasn’t the boy’s favorite person.

Fireworks with Brent Callahan’s newest client shift from antagonism to the rocky possibility of a relationship.

When he comes face to face with a history he’d much rather forget, he realizes hiding his failures isn’t the best option for finding forgiveness, let alone love.

Can a little boy help weed out the past before it chokes their future together?

Dandelions For Dinner: A Farm Fresh Romance . . . by Valerie ComerTweet this!

MY THOUGHTS:

Allison Hart means business. When she becomes a full partner with the other girls at Green Acres Farm, she arranged for a home for herself and a school to be built. The school was for the classes she planned to teach.

How did she know that Patrick, the man she made the arrangements with, would send a young, grouchy, dastardly-handsome-looking man to supervise her project.

I don’t want to give anything else away, so if you want to know what else happens, get the book and read it for yourself — and I hope you do just that! It’s great!

THe more I read Valerie’s Farm Fresh Romance series, the more I love it! The characters are fun, interesting, and this book, more than the others, really affected me. (Actually, it brought me to tears a few times, but it ended well). It might just be my favorite book of the whole series!

Don’t miss out on this wonderful series.

Happy Reading!

Sweetened With Honey | Valerie Comer

Today I am reviewing Sweetened With Honey, the 3rd book in the Farm Fresh Romance series by Valerie Comer.

Here is a brief synopsis:

His unspeakable past.

Her insurmountable future.

Gabriel Rubachuk returns to Galena Landing, Idaho, once the setting of a charmed life before an accident killed his pregnant wife. Will he embrace hope for a new life or escape once again?

Beekeeper Sierra Riehl has spent three years helping to keep Gabe’s health food store afloat while he worked with orphans in Romania. Now he’s back, but it looks like he might bolt.

Can she hold him still long enough to spark a romance? But Sierra’s hope falters when she begins to suspect she can’t give Gabe the life he deserves.

Is new love sweet enough to overcome the pain of the past and the uncertainty of the future?

Sweetened With Honey: A Farm Fresh Romance . . . by Valerie ComerTweet this!

MY THOUGHTS:

Sierra Riehl seems to always be in the wrong place, at the wrong time, as far as avoiding Gabriel Rubachuk, since his return to Galena Landing. Just to be around her reminds him of everything he’s lost . . . his wife . . . and child.

I’d hate to be in such a position, but I really sympathized with Sierra. Of course, as things usually work out in life, they can’t avoid each other for long! Will they be able to put the past behind them? It doesn’t look good . . .

If you want to know what else happens, you’ll have to get the book and read it for yourself — and I heartily suggest you do just that! It’s great!

I’m really loving Valerie’s Farm Fresh Romance series. The characters are fun, interesting, and life gets messy for them – just like it does for us.

Don’t miss out on this wonderful series.

Happy Reading!

MY THOUGHTS:

I LOVE THIS SERIES!

Poor Rebecca . . . after adoring her friend’s brother from afar, now she’s attending his wedding — to another woman. Oh well, we all have our fantasies — and more often than not, they get dashed.

In the meantime, the man in question, Noel Kenzie, marries his true love — Claire Halford. Will they live happily ever after? While I’m sure they’ll have their share of problems, I think they have a better than average chance of making it work.

If you want to find out what happens with Rebecca and Wade Roper, a former employee of Noel’s, all you have to do is sign up for Valerie Comer’s newsletter — and you can get a digital copy of Peppermint Kisses — free! So go do this… and start reading with me.
